The Boy

Another Death Note drawing!

"The boy was positioned on the floor, no longer L—the supporter of the world—but a boy called Near. Or, perhaps it was the child once called Nate River. Near’s hands held Gevanni’s upper arms between his shoulders and elbows. The whitenette was lost within himself for a moment, face hiding in the strong chest, covered by nothing but a dress shirt. Tear’s streamed down Near’s face, confusion and fear present in his onyx eyes."

A request from my friend figmentedfabrication. I wanted to make my drawings more colorful. Perhaps I made this too colorful. She gave me a fabulous description to work with but only now do I realize that missed the fact that Near is supposed to be on the floor…

The one thing I deliberately toned down on was Near’s eyes because I have difficulty believing he’d reveal such intense emotion to anyone but I made the hiding and tension a strong point instead.

I remember this one. This one was super tough to do because I was attempting a top-down perspective. Technically I went all out but I feel dissatisfied with it somehow.... It's pretty but it lacks something...
