~*Whooo, finally finished*~

THE LEGEND (Backstory)
I actually started this meme back in March of 2009 and have been updating it every so often ever since (Whenever I remembered it existed '3' ). It was only for the last two weeks that I have been serious in finishing it.

That said, I've retained a lot of the original drawings I made over the year -- only cleaning a few of them up a little when I entered the coloring stage. And, I've also erased and re-written much of the chicken-scratch handwriting that was on here before. xD

As a result, you can visually witness the progress I've made in my drawing skill. Try to guess which drawings are old and which are new~ It's also a lot longer than the original meme.

BTW, in this meme I experimented a lot with color so it's kind of all over the place. Gevanni's black palette and Near's white palette only give me so much to work with, hahaha. But I tried my best.

OH GOD WHAT AM I LOOKING AT HOW DID I GET HERE I AM NOT GOOD WITH THE COMPUTER (aka commentary)

1) YOU THERE. What's your favorite couple?
Aw man, this was the cute drawing that beckoned me to finish this meme when I clicked on it. They're so adorable. ;-;

Being someone who has a small passion for graphic design, I like the composition of this. Fits together real nice.

2) When did you start fangirling over them?
Hahaha, I totally remember when I first stumbled upon this pairing. I thought it was the weirdest thing ever and didn't quite get it until I glanced at this comic.

Those two panels are pretty much the gist of that comic. Sad Near and bewildered Gevanni.

3) What makes you love this couple so much?
Delicious height difference

But yeah, it's kind've a mess. The upper half is the product of a fangirl unsure of how to put her passion into words but there is definitely sincerity to it -- which is why I left it in.

I have a much clearer idea now, though, but I honestly wouldn't know where to begin. The bottom half is definitely a part of it, though. Near wears the pants in this relationship, but Gevanni isn't gonna lie there and take it either. He has his own identity, too. xD

4) Is there anything about them that annoys you?
IT IS WORTH IT. DAMN IT. ;-;

GREENTEXT SHOWDOWN was another one of those stupid late-night, I-haven't-slept-for-over-a-day ideas. Uhmm, at least it's useful in conveying their issues in a clear manner, ahahaha. I like Gevanni's princess face.

5) What's your favorite outfit on them?
Canonically, their outfits don't have much variation but my favorite fanart of them tends to have them in winter outfits.

Gevanni looks so sweet and Near's coolface is so cute and derp. I love them. ;~~;

6) It's the birthday of one of them! How would the two of them spend it?
The upper half consists of old ideas that weren't imaginative enough for me, but they were so cute I wanted to keep them in anyway.

I'm sorry I'm so mean to you Gevanni. ;_;

7) How would they react in an embarassing situation?
Utility closet was an old, boring idea, but again the drawing was charming enough for me to keep it. I like the color scheme a lot.

I loved drawing and coloring Halle. I should draw Rester more often. I am not anti-Rester (In fact, I am pro-Rester) and he's not even that difficult for me to draw (lol I say that now) but hmm, I haven't come up with many contexts to put him into. It's just that he doesn't strike me as sutenia-friendly, hahahaha. Halle is more likely to be a bro.

DON--- is there because I like how manga has sound effects for abstract things like state of mind and even silence. Standard sound effects like wham, pow, kaboom can only do so much.

8) How do you think they'll be like in the near future?
This question was the most difficult to answer cause I wasn't sure what it was asking. Near future is kinda specific. Some people interpreted it as the far-off future and I was thinking of doing that too, but --gah, would this be the kind of couple that could grow old together?. I WANT TO BELIEVE. But... I dunno that's maybe a bit optimistic. *baww*

Near's cute in his dress at least. Hairstyle is an obvious shout-out to Mello. xD Gevanni's hair was fun to draw.

9) If your OTP is het, make it yaoi/yuri, and if it's yaoi/yuri, make it het!
I love Girlvanni. I see Gevanni as just a biiit androgynous in personality so I figured it make sense to keep the theme going and play up his female counterpart's boyish traits. But, of course, she'd be a lady at heart.

I could have done girl Near but, mmm, honestly a female Near would look and act pretty much the same (fundamentally anyway, hahaha).

10) Who gets in the way of your OTP?
With all due respect. '3'

Electric sexual tension comes from an actual [Adult Swim] description of the scene where Mello and Near meet. Needless to say I was endlessly amused. Delicious gay.

Also, seacats reference. I like Ryu07's sprites. Mello is making my favorite Lambdadelta face. BTW, Bernkastel and Lambdadelta REALLLLLLLY remind me of Near and Mello, respectively. I don't really have any strong ships in Umineko, but they come close.
